Leader Visits Expo of Domestic Production Capabilities

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Saturday paid a three-hour visit to an exhibition of homegrown production capabilities in various sectors.

The exhibition was themed after the slogan of the year, “knowledge-based, job-creating production,” which was adopted by the Leader at the beginning of the current Persian calendar year (March 21, 2020), Leader.ir reported.

Domestic capabilities in different industries were on display at the expo, including mining and exploration, electronics and telecommunication, aerospace and satellites, automotive, food and agriculture, rail, road, sea and air transportation, housing, oil and petrochemicals, house appliances, textile, fish farming, watershed management, electricity and power plants, dam construction, water management, and information and communications technology.

In his new year message, the Leader had described production as the key to overcoming economic problems, which is why the mottos of recent years have been focused on this sector.

“This year, too, I put emphasis on production, but on a new dimension of it, which is knowledge-based and job-creating production,” he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the only way to achieve economic growth is to move toward knowledge-based economy, which refers to the adoption of a scientific and technological approach to production in all sectors.

“Fair progress in economy and resolving the issue of poverty is attainable only through boosting knowledge-based production,” he said, adding that job-creation is also contingent on the increase of knowledge-based companies.

At the time of the Leader’s message in March 2022, there were around 6,700 knowledge-based companies running in the country, which the Leader said must be doubled.

Currently, there are 8020 registered companies of such kind, according to official data.
