Iran’s First Biorefinery Enjoys 85% Progress

Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and Head of Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) says construction of the first biorefinery for production of bioethanol which is of the biggest of this kind of refinery in the region is underway in Kermanshah and it has progressed 85% and it is approaching its final stages of construction and completion.

Ali Nabavi said that despite problems resulted by the sanctions,IDRO with using capability of the domestic engineers and manufacturers has advanced this national project to its final stages.
He added that with the current trend in the operation of this project it is expected the construction, installation, testing and launch of this important refinery to finish by the yearend and it joins the network as schedule.
According to Nabavi, the value of this rial-forex investment for completing and launching this Zagros Green Fuel Unit equals 12,000b rials that it will lead to occupation of 200 people. He went on to say that with the launch of this biorefinery and annual production of 66m liters of fuel alcohol of grain, over $65m will be saved.
Head of the IDRO reiterated that with the launch of this project, some 66,000 tons of remained dried distiller grain with solubles from the fuel alcohol will be produced annually as the sub-product of production that today it is imported as a valuable livestock feed.
Bioethanol fuel as a clean fuel replaces the chemical gasoline additives in line with protecting the environment and it will lead to considerable reduction in pollution.
