Home-Made Gas-Burning Turbine Tested in Refinery

Deputy Industry, Mine and Trade and Head of Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) announced the news that the 4-mehawatt IDRO-made gas turbine was tested during the last week in one of the refineries of the country and the testing process was conducted successfully.

According to IDRO News, Mohsen Salehinia announced this achievement and said that the design and production of this turbine is one of the fully obvious and examples in the field of innovation and indigenization of the modern technologies in the country.

He went on to say that this turbine was manufactured for the first time by the capable private sector and with full support of IDRO and it enjoys high technology whose foreign like is mainly used in the oil and gas industries of the country.

Salehinia noted that considering the current problem of electricity shortage in the country, this type o turbine can resolve the challenges ahead of industrial units for providing electricity in the peak consumption seasons of the year in the form of Cogeneration or combined heat and power (CHP) units.

He pointed to the readiness of the organization for continuing the cooperation in this field, adding that the technical knowledge and knowhow of manufacturing this type of turbine has been attained during the production process and in case of receiving orders, it is possible manufacturing it and meet the demands of the applicants.

The foreign-made like of this turbine is estimated to be over $2m.
