Contracts Worth 22,000b Rials Signed for Indigenizing Auto Parts

Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and Head of Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) says some contracts worth over 22,000b rials have been signed for indigenizing the auto parts which will save the country some 56m euros per year.

Speaking at the ceremony of  the fifth desk of developing and deepening domestic production of the auto part, Mr. Mohsen Salehinia said that the value of the contracts signed in this desk is over 22,000b rials that indigenization of these auto parts will save the country 56m euros per year.

He said these contracts have been signed between 23 capable domestic companies for indigenization of 33 project-parts in the productions of two major domestic auto-making companies.

Referring to the joint planning of the ministry and IDRO for employing capacities of auto-part making and knowledge-based companies, he expressed hope that with materialization of indigenizing the auto parts they can reach the qualitative and quantitative goals and rise in the supply and production of cars in the current and next year.

According to Salehinia, so far in the past four desks, 154 part-projects worth 4,460b have been indigenized in mass circulation which helped the country save 341m annually
