Head of Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) says the organization is determined to develop Garmsar Special Economic Zone (GSEZ) with a credit of 1250b rials.

Amir Bayat said so far 55 contracts have been signed for handing over of land in the zone to private sector investors and accordingly, some 44 hectares of land worth 570b rials have been handed over to the applicants.
He added that the value of the total investment of private sector for construction of units is over 6,000b and it is predicted some 2500 direct jobs to be created by these projects in the zone.
Bayat noted that so far the processes of constructions in the project in different sections have led to creation of 123 direct jobs as native workforce accounts for 93 percent of the figure. He pointed to the pioneer site in GSEZ which continues with 52 percent progress, adding that to construct and complete the infrastructures of the zone, actions have been taken like gas supply, connection to the national optical fiber network, getting license for construction of rail and railway stations, approval of comprehensive project and issuing license for exploitation, getting custom code, getting approval for construction of power sub-station, getting license for environment and providing water for the zone.
Garmsar Special Economic Zone (GSEZ) with 2,000 hectares of area is located on the neighborhood of Tehran and it acts under supervision of IDRO and it is one of the focal points of economy and production in the country.
