Customs Office of Garmsar SEZ Inaugurated

He reiterated that after establishment of those loading docks, the customs office can provide services for all types of goods.

On the occasion of the Government Week and in a ceremony, the Customs Office of Garmsar Special Economic Zone was inaugurated by Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mr. Mohammad Shariatmadari.

According to reports, in the inaugural ceremony and the launch of the customs office in the zone, Shariatmadari pointed to the role of developmental organizations in the development process, aid to the expansion of production, industry and trade, adding that organizations like Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) should act stronger than before and pursue more innovative activities.

Meanwhile the CEO of IDRO Mr. Mansour Moazzami, addressing the ceremony, said that in the first step, a land about 10 hectares was allocated for the launch of the customs office in Garmsar Special Economic Zone and it can be expanded.

He noted that all necessary equipment have been installed in the customs office like x-ray cameras, bar code readers and huge scales.

Moazammi went on to say that the customs office has cost around 20b rials so far, adding that the group has started talks with Iran Public Warehouse and Customs Services Company for setting up roofed loading dock which will be established in the upcoming months.

He reiterated that after establishment of those loading docks, the customs office can provide services for all types of goods.

He concluded that so far around 350b rials have been spent on the project via the IDRO.
