Iran; world’s 18th biggest economy

In terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Iran is the 18th biggest economy in the world in 2017.

Based on the World Bank’s data, World’s GDP in 2016 with the current price in 2016 was $75.5 trillion which according to the International Monetary Fund has increased to $79.3 trillion.

According to the ranking of GDP in terms of current price, Iranian economy with a GDP of $428 billion is among the 192 countries following Belgium and Thailand and higher than Austria and Norway.

But in the ranking of GDP in terms of purchasing power, Iran ranks in 18th place following Spain and Canada and higher than Australia and Thailand.
