No Ambiguity in Contract With Renault

Chairman of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) says there is no ambiguity in contact with French auto-making giant Renault and it goes ahead with no problem.

After inauguration of the Second Tehran Auto Show, Mansour Moazami said that auto industry is a strategic industry and people in the society are involved with it. He said according to statistics, more than 19m vehicles are currently rolling in the country and it can be both positive and negative.

He noted that people use their cars because of shortage in public transportation and it is a good opportunity for producers but it is not good sign for urban life and all should work towards expanding public transportation.
He went on to say that holding such shows has positive impacts as the show can put on display the latest achievements in the auto industry and it will be a venue for competitions among manufacturers.
Moazami reiterated that industry ministry emphasized the quality and its stance is tougher than before over the quality.
He asserted that if the industry wants to be present in the international market, it should pay more heed to the quality in order to have more presence in the exports market.
He reiterated that all products should be based on the international standards. Moazami said if the national auto-makers believe in themselves and their products, they can succeed in exporting.
Reacting to the contract with Renault, he said that there is no ambiguity and it goes on as it has been planned.
Moazami reiterated that officials have received the necessary guarantees in their contracts from the foreign companies.
