IDRO, Gazprom to Cooperate on Gas Project

TEHRAN – Gazprom of Russia signed a memorandum of understanding with the Industrial Development & Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) on the possibility of cooperating on LNG and gas processing projects in Iran, Gazprom has said in a statement.

The memorandum also includes the possibility of selling LNG to third countries. Gazprom recently signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate with the National Iranian Oil Company to implement projects to build the Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.
During the meeting, the CEO of IDRO Mr. Mansour Moazami said that the agreement is an opportunity for cooperation on expanding mutual cooperation in oil, gas and energy sector. Pointing to the IDRO’s 50 years of experience in industry and sectors like energy and implementing projects in the South Pars, Moazami reiterated that IDRO is fully ready for cooperation with Gazprom.
He noted that in case the agreement is implemented, the industry can see huge progress and development. Moazami went on to say that Iran and Russia have had good interactions in the railway and air industries.
Meanwhile deputy head of Gazprom, Vitaly Markelov, for his part, pointed to different activities of the company, adding that the company is active in 26 countries and it has had several projects in the oil, gas and energy sectors.
